What is the difference between a tour guide and a driver-guide?
A driver guide is a tourism professional who will show the beauties of the city you’re visiting in the comfort of one of our Mercedes vehicles. The driver guides are not authorized to enter with you in the sites so they will give you the most important pieces of information before you get in. Tour guides have a license issued by the province, they can work only in that area, that’s why your guide in Rome can’t go with you to Pompei. A licensed guide is authorized to enter in the museums and the historical sites.
What is the difference between a tour guide and a tour escort with bus with over 8 passengers?
The tour guide will enter with you in the sites giving to you all the explanations about the monument. The tour escorts will assist you all day long but can’t enter in the city attractions. Anyway they will provide you with all information you need about the history and other details regarding the site you’re going to visit.
Can I request a driver?
When you’re booking, please let us know if you have a preferred driver guide or guide, whom you heard from a friend or you met during your last staying in Italy. We will do our best to assign him/her to you!
How much should I tip?
Tips in Italy are not mandatory, they depend on how much you liked the service. For example in the restaurants you can leave on the table around 10-15% of the bill (remember that in Italy tips can be only cash, they can't be added on the credit card).
Does the Vatican have a dress code?
In the Vatican there is a strict dress code and if you don’t respect it you won’t be permitted inside. They have just two rules: shoulders and knees covered, so no skirts above the knee, no shorts for men, no sleeveless blouses. During the day you can visit the city wearing any clothing you want but we suggest to bring with you some extra pants or jacket.
Where do we meet the driver at the airport, the port, or the station?
It will be very easy for you to meet the driver in any situation.
At the airport the driver will be just out the luggage claim holding a sign with your name. He is not authorized to enter in the custom, so if you have problems with your luggage please ask to the custom officer at the door to go one moment outside to alert the driver of your delay. It usually takes around 40 minutes from the landing to the meeting with your driver. Any problem you have don’t hesitate to call us to our office, we’ll be ready to solve any situation.
At the port your driver we’ll be at the pier where your ship docks holding a sign with your name.
At the station as you come down walk to the head of the train and you’ll find the driver holding a sign with your name.
Are the Vatican Museums open Saturdays and Sundays?
